In order to support the economy in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the U.S. government has approved a number of economic stimulus checks since the crisis began. Just over ** percent of consumers in the United States, receiving the latest stimulus payment in March of 2021, expected to use it to increase their savings, while an estimated ** percent planned to use the check to help pay for essential monthly expenses.
