Germany and the United Kingdom were the second and the third major destination countries for Italian wine exports. However, the British were fonder of bubbles than the Germans. The COVID-19 impact on wine exports
The United States thus spend a great amount of money on importing wine from Italy. In April 2020 alone, the value of wine sold by Italian companies to the U.S. reached over *** million euros. However, the value of wine exports from Italy to the U.S. dropped by *** percent when compared to April 2019. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Italian wine producers also saw the value of their exports to China halved.
