The United Kingdom (UK) has left the European Union (EU) but has not strayed far in terms of data privacy. The EU鈥檚 initial law about the protection of online data, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), has remained active in the United Kingdom under the name of UK GDPR. The second law on data privacy in the UK is the Digital Privacy Act (DPA) of 2018, which is the amendment of the Data Protection Act of 1998. Although similar, the UK GDPR has the agency to review the implications of the law.
