This statistic shows the share of people in five European Union countries that believe life is worse now than it was 50 years ago, separated into whether they hold a favorable view of their country's main populist party or not, in 2017. At the time of survey in March and April 2017, ** percent of people in Germany that held a favorable view of the AfD party felt life was worse than 50 years ago. In contrast, only ** percent of Germans with an unfavorable view of the AfD felt life was worse.
