The source defines the audience share as: "the average percentage of the target audience who have watched the program or channel".
The source notes, the study included "the viewing behavior of all available online content. Up until 27 days after they television airing date, the content can linked to the original broadcast. Only online viewership of the shows of broadcasters NPO, RTL Nederland and SBS Broadcasting are included (for now)".

Most watched online TV programs in the Netherlands 2021
'Sinterklaasjournaal' was the TV show that initiated the most online streams in the Netherlands in November 2021. The figures provided here concern shows that are broadcast on either public or commercial television and are available to stream online though apps like NPO Start or RTL XL. Notable is that the list for the most popular TV shows online is somewhat different than the television figures for the same month. In that list, news and events such as soccer games play a more prominent role. This probably means the figures provided here, which have more of an entertainment or real life focus, is more geared towards Millennials or Gen Z.
