Netflix in the Netherlands - statistics & facts
With estimated subscriber figures higher than those found in Spain and Italy, Netflix is a popular way for the Dutch to spend their time. According to survey information (as Netflix itself does not share this type of information), more than three million people in the Netherlands used the streaming service at the end of 2019. This in an overall population of over 17 million. Although no reason is given why Netflix is so popular in the Netherlands, it is noticeable how the Netherlands compares to the rest of Europe in terms of its catalogue. The number of series available on the Dutch Netflix ranked among the sixth highest in Europe in 2019, higher than in Germany or the Nordics countries. Netflix鈥 movie catalogue in the Netherlands, on the other hand, was lower than in many other European countries.
