In 2019, 18-to-34-year-olds in the Netherlands were more inclined to only read daily newspapers on a digital platform than their older counterparts. Online and print news consumption in the Netherlands varied widely by age. Six percent of 13-to-37 year olds, for example, used paper sources only when consuming news. This same percentage was around ** percent within the age group of 50-64 years. Overall news consumption, be it offline or online, was highest among those 65 years and older.
