YouTube in the Netherlands - statistics & facts
YouTube.com was founded in 2005 and introduced with a local version in the Netherlands in 2007. More than ten years later, YouTube has become one of the Netherlands' most popular social media platforms. The online video service reached over nine million users in the Netherlands in 2020. Only WhatsApp and Facebook were more popular social media platforms. YouTube users in the Netherlands were predominantly younger than 39 years, according to survey results from 2017 and 2018. The online video platform was especially popular among 15-to-19-year-olds: 86 percent of the Dutch respondents in this age group said they used Google鈥檚 video-sharing platform.
