Germany is home to more than 1,500 offshore wind power plants. As of 2023, the number of offshore sites connected to the power grid amounted to 1,566. This was the highest figure in the period of consideration. There were no off-grid sites in 2023. These figures are still noticeably smaller compared to the number of wind power plants on land.
