The amount of payment cards issued in Luxembourg tripled between 2021 and 2022. The number of issued cards with a payment function amounted to approximately nine million on the market in Luxembourg in 2022. The source does not explain this sudden increase, although it could possibly be attributed to methodology changes in the most recent report.
