The HORIZONT creativity ranking is based on an analysis of the relevant national design competitions and award shows, which have separate categories for communication and graphic design. For the ADC competition, only the design categories are taken into account: Books, Book covers, Corporate Design, Editorial, Individual graphic works, Literature, Motion design, Illustration, Calenders, Catalogues, Communication in within a space, Culture posters, Packaging, Products, Sound design, Typography. For the iF Award and Red Dot, all areas of communication design are taken into account - both competitions have appeared independently in the visual communication area under the label 'communication design' for ten years. The iF and Red Dot competitions for industry and product design, on the other hand, are not taken into account in this statistic.
