Agentic AI adoption in financial institutions worldwide 2025, by business function
The use of agentic AI across financial institutions remained very limited in 2025. Adoption was highest in risk, legal, and compliance functions, where percent of respondents reported regular use. Service operations followed at **** percent, while knowledge management, marketing and sales, strategy and corporate finance, and human resources each reported **** percent regular use. Overall, agentic AI deployment in banking remained at an early stage: more than half of institutions were still piloting use cases in 2025, and only ** percent had moved to active deployment.
