Despite the financial services sector’s relatively broad adoption of traditional AI, agentic AI were in the early stages of deployment in the banking sector in 2025. Only ** percent of banking executives reported that their organizations were actively deploying agentic AI use cases, while just over half (** percent) were still piloting projects, suggesting that adoption is likely to accelerate in the near future. Another ** percent were in the process of identifying potential use cases, and ** percent were either exploring or have not yet started using the technology. Based on the survey of 250 executives and leaders in banking and financial services, agentic AI, which refers to systems capable of autonomously taking actions to achieve goals rather than just providing insights, showed strong interest but limited large-scale implementation compared with more mature AI applications.
