Among the respondents of a survey conducted in 2021, Chileans were the Latin Americans who spent the most on gifts for the celebration of Valentine's Day. That year, each person in Chile spent an average of 43 U.S. dollars to buy gifts and give them on this day. According to the survey, Chilean men spent five U.S. dollars more than Chilean women. The Mexican respondents spent one U.S. dollar less compared to the Chileans, with an average of 42 U.S. dollars per person, with men also being the ones who spent more compared to women.
