According to a 2024 survey conducted in the United States, the leading way for parents to manage their child's online activities was to talk to their children about what they did online. Up to 65 percent of parents did so. In addition, more than half of all parents established time limits on their child's online activities. Some popular ways of managing the screen time of children involved direct monitoring, with measures such as parents knowing their child's sign-in information, regularly reviewing what their child accesses or posts online, and using parental control software.
