Other providers if a respondent could write one in.Â
If a respondent did not know its BNPL provider, the source assumed it would be part of regulated BNPL, and it would be excluded from the results.
The question was phrased by the source as follows: "In the last 12 months have you bought any goods using a Buy Now, Pay Later payment service, sometimes called pay in three or pay later?"

Buy now, pay later (BNPL) use in the UK 2024, by age, gender, income, race
UK adults with low or middle income were more likely to use BNPL than adults with higher incomes. This is according to a bi-annual household survey in the United Kingdom, that asked about how and why consumers would be using the alternative payment option. About ** percent of respondents who had an income between 50,000 and 100,000 British pounds used buy now, pay later. This was noticeably different from other income levels, especially higher ones. The source observed major differences between race, with Black and mixed race users being significantly more common BNPL users than White or Asian respondents.
