Under section 33 of Thailand's Social Security Act, employers and employees must contribute five percent of an employee's wage to the fund. The maximum payment is 1,500 baht monthly for salaries of 15,000 baht or more. Any salary exceeding this amount does not affect the contribution.
A person covered under the Social Security Act is an employee over the age of 15 and less than 60 who contributes monthly to receiving benefits.Â
