 A person covered under the Social Security Act is an employee over the age of 15 and less than 60 years old who contributes to receiving benefits.  A person who reaches the age of sixty and has been employed by the employer under this Act will be considered an insured.

In 2023, around **** million residents in Thailand were eligible for social security benefits. According to Thai laws, employees, and employers must contribute to the social security fund. The amount is calculated and stands at five percent, but not more than *** Thai baht, would be deducted from the base salary each month.
