In 2023, there were Medicare hospice providers in California, while *** were found in Texas. Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, there were only **** hospice providers in Alaska, **** in DC and **** in Rhode Island.

However, there has been abnormal growth in the number of hospice providers concentrated in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas. This seems to suggest fraudulent activity, according to home health care news and hospice news.
