In the United States, over half of surveyed adults said it would be impossible for them to afford the cost of nursing home care, at 100,000 U.S. dollars annually, should they or a family member need it. A further third said this would be very difficult to do. And yet, the annual cost for a semi-private room in a nursing home was ** U.S. dollars in 2023.
