In the United States, a third of home health agency users were diagnosed with Alzheimer's or other dementia. Whereas in other long-term care (LTC) settings such as hospice, LTC hospitals, or nursing homes, the share of users/residents with dementia was even higher, at around 40 percent or higher.

Meanwhile, half of patients in nursing homes had depression. In comparison, those using adult day centers and hospices had much lower rates of depression, but still around 17 percent.
