A global survey conducted in 2023 found that 48 percent of respondents would respond and share money if they received a voicemail or voicenote from a family member or friend who was experiencing car issues or had been in a car accident. A further 41 percent reported they would do this if their family member or friend was on vacation abroad and needed help. Overall, respondents in India were very likely to send money to help their loved ones when receiving these types of messages.
