On the **, after the results of the European elections, President Emmanuel Macron decided to dissolve the National Assembly. This came shortly after his party was defeated by National Rally, the far-right party of Marine Le Pen, and their young leader, Jordan Bardella. According to a survey conducted a few days after the election, most respondents had a negative impression of the dissolution and indicated they felt incomprehension, fear, or anger. On the other hand, around * of the respondents declared feeling hopeful after the dissolution.
