In France, for the legislative elections in 2024, around candidates were competing for the *** seats in the National Assembly. This represented a decrease of candidates when compared to the previous election. On the *** of June 2024, after the results of the European elections, President Macron dissolved the National Assembly and called for new legislative elections. The first round of these elections was to be held on the **** of June, therefore candidates had little time to apply, which might explain the low number of applications.Â
