According to a December 2025 survey conducted in the United States, more men than women considered that social media had positive effects on their mental health, with 23 percent of male respondents reporting positive effects and 21 percent of female respondents reporting positive effects. In comparison, 32 percent of both male and female respondents reported that social networks affected them negatively.
