A global survey conducted in 2022 found that the Philippines, Japan, and China were the countries with the highest levels of trust in the press. A total of ** percent of surveyed Filipinos stated that they had a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the press, while the share was at ** percent in Japan and ** percent in China. By contrast, Greece, the United Kingdom and Egypt had the lowest trust in the press at under ** percent in each country respectively.
