A 2023 survey across all ** European Union member states held among people aged 15 years and older found that public television and radio stations were the most trusted source of news, whereas influencers, blogs/podcasts, and video platforms fared less well. Respondents were also more hesitant to trust people they knew or followed on social media, whereas the written press was trusted by between around ** to ** percent of respondents, depending on age. Younger consumers aged between 15 and 24 years had more faith in influencers than their older peers, with ** percent saying they trusted them for news; seven times the share of adults aged 55 or above.
