Change in methane emissions in Brazil 1990-2022, by sector
The sector that has observed the largest overall percentage increased in methane emissions in Brazil since 1990 is the power industry. While this increase is far higher than any other sector, the power industry is a minor source of methane in Brazil when compared to the agriculture sector, which is by far the largest source of methane in the country.Â
