During the survey, the question was phrased as follows: "What do you believe are the top 3 risks to your profits over the next 2 years?"

Where data are lacking it is because in a given year a specific variable was missing from the survey. For instance, respondents were able to choose "Supply chain disruptions" as a viable answer in the 2022 survey, but not in 2024.

In 2024, farmers worldwide identified increased price inputs as the leading risk to farm profits for the next two years, with ** percent ranking it in the top three. However, this risk was perceived as much higher in 2022, when it was indicated by ** percent of respondents. Compared to 2022, in 2024 more farmers were concerned by the second-leading risk, that is extreme weather or climate events (** percent of respondents in 2024 against ** percent in 2022).
