Migration is one of the most transformative phenomena for European societies in the last two decades. In 2024 alone, around 8.8 million refugees and 1.3 million asylum seekers arrived to Europe, most of them forced to flee their home countries due to wars, poverty and human rights violation. Germany received the largest number of refugees and asylum seekers in that year, followed by Poland and France.
