According to a 2025 survey, Democrats were overwhelmingly more likely than Republicans to express trust in the mass media to report the news without bias, with 51 percent of Democrats saying they trust it a great deal or a fair amount. Only eight percent of Republicans who were surveyed expressed trust in mass media in general. In contrast, 62 percent of Republicans said that they did not trust mass media, compared to nine percent of Democrats.
