The majority white communities category retrieves data from postal codes where at least 60 percent of the residents were white. Communities of color retrieves data from postal codes where at least 60 percent of the residents were not white.

Share of people with debt in collections in the U.S. 2023
In almost every U.S. state, debt delinquency in 2023 was much higher in communities of color than in those with a majority white population. Hawaii was one of the few exceptions, where the share of people with debt in collection was similar for both communities. In the United States overall, over **** percent of white people with a credit bureau record in communities had debt in collection, while in non-white community those figures reached **** percent.
