During a face-to-face survey carried out in Brazil in , approximately ** percent of respondents said TV news was a trustworthy source of information. Radio news and print newspapers followed, mentioned by ** and ** percent of the interviewees, respectively. While ** percent of respondents expressed trust in the messaging app Telegram as a news source, the share of responding people who trusted Facebook, TikTok, and/or WhatsApp stood below ** percent. According to another source, about out of ten Brazilian internet users utilized Telegram as of the third quarter of 2021.
