As of April 2023, more than half of the workforce of social video platform TikTok in the United Kingdom was female. However, the platform reported that 56.8 percent of employees in its upper pay band were male, compared to 43.2 percent of women who were part of the top earners. In contrast, women accounted for six in 10 employees in the lower quartile (lowest) pay band at the other end of the scale.
