The profiles of bands, singers, or other musicians were the second most popular type of social networking account followed, with more than 28 percent of respondents following such accounts. Overall, 22.6 percent of social media users followed companies and brands they purchased from, while 19.5 percent followed companies and brands they considered buying from.
