A large share of Indian television advertisements featured sports stars in 2023, the most popular being Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, who featured in ** percent of all TV ads featuring sports celebrities. MS Dhoni ranked second, accounting for less than ** percent of such ads that year. The leading five sports celebrities to be featured in TV ads were all cricket players, given that Indians make up the largest audience of this sport.
