A 2024 survey on news consumption among children in the United Kingdom found that ** percent of teens aged 12 to 15 years said that in order to fact-check news on social media sites or apps, they would look at the comments or find out what people had said about the story. Participants aged 12 years were the most likely to do this, whereas 15-year-olds were the most inclined to check if the same story appeared elsewhere in order to verify it.
