"The European innovation scoreboard provides a comparative analysis of innovation performance in EU countries, other European countries, and regional neighbours. It assesses the relative strengths and weaknesses of national innovation systems and helps countries identify areas they need to address.
Innovators includes two indicators measuring the share of SMEs that have introduced innovations on the market or within their organisations, covering both product and business process innovators.
The EIS considers a wide range of factors that affect innovation. In line with previous editions, the methodological framework of the scoreboard is based on a total of 32 indicators, divided into four main categories and 12 dimensions, to assess the innovation performance of the EU, its Member States and selected third countries."Â
