Nepotism and bribery in public sector in Nigeria 2019, by gender
According to a survey from 2019, about half of the applicants who secured a position in the Nigerian public sector used nepotism, bribery, or both. Some ** percent of male respondents and ** percent of female respondents declared to have paid a bribe for their position in the public sector. In addition, around ** percent of both male and female respondents, respectively, secured their job as public officials with the help of friends or relatives.
