A July 2020 survey of social media users in the United States found that 55 percent of respondents felt worn out by how many political posts and discussions they saw on social platforms. In contrast, only 15 percent of respondents reported that they liked seeing political posts and discussions online. The share of U.S. social media users who feel work out by politics on social media increased by 18 percent from 2016 to 2020.
