Plant-based meat sales grew at a faster rate than animal-based meat both at the mid-March peak of coronavirus panic buying in the United States, and in the subsequent month. Plant-based meat grew by 148 percent over the previous year, during peak panic buying, while animal-based meat sales grew by 99 percent.
