How often do the French visit a monument this year? Beyond monuments that are aesthetically remarkable, monuments are works of architecture or sculpture that perpetuate the memory of an event, a person or history.
Firstly, this survey conducted in 2018 highlights that one in five French people was a one-time visitor to these heritage sites, having visited a monument during the year. But also nearly a quarter of the respondents had visited at least three monuments.

As a comparison, although 42 percent of respondents did not visit monuments in 2018, there were 61 percent of non-visitors to museums or temporary exhibitions .
