How old were the French having visited at least once a museum or a temporary exhibition in 2018? The museum offers allow French population to discover collections of works of art, cultural, scientific or technical goods in any season.
According to this survey, the share of respondents who attended a museum or an exhibition ranged from 32 percent to 44 percent. Visits were more frequent among respondents aged 40 to 59, where nearly one in two respondents reported making at least one visit during the year.
However, the share of visitors fell below 40 percent among respondents aged over 70 years old. This age group was also characterized by their low interest in the festive evenings offered by museums in 2018.
