*Vegetarians are people who do not eat meat nor fish. As such, pescatarians are excluded.

During the survey, the question was phrased as follows: "Do you follow one or more of the following nutrition rules?" Only one answer was possible.

Citation formats

The results from a 2024 survey conducted in the Netherlands indicate that the vegetarian diet is more popular among women, as *** percent of female respondents indicated being vegetarian versus **** percent of male respondents. The opposite is true about the vegan diet: only *** percent of female consumers identified as vegans, against **** percent of males.
