Netflix is one of the most influential SVOD services and entertainment companies worldwide. Initially started as a DVD-by-mail rental service in 1997, the California-based business soon became a global leader in the world of online video streaming. In 2021, Netflix鈥檚 revenue reached a record 26.7 billion U.S. dollars, and while the United States remains the largest Netflix market globally in terms of subscriber numbers, the streaming giant also excels in Europe. The EMEA region is the most profitable Netflix region after North America, with many of the provider鈥檚 biggest markets located in Europe. Considering that Netflix is ramping up production and opening hubs across the continent, European viewer demand is unlikely to decline any time soon.
