Base metal industry worldwide - statistics & facts
By some definitions, base metals comprise most common metals which are not precious metals nor ferrous metals, and are widely used in commercial and industrial applications, such as construction and manufacturing. Narrower definitions of base metals, however, encompass aluminum, copper, lead, nickel, and zinc. As of 2024, base metals had a total global market value amounting to 866.1 billion U.S. dollars.
