Vedanta Limited's zinc production 

In 2025, India's zinc mines produced approximately 870,000 metric tons of zinc. Vedanta Limited is an Indian diversified natural resource company, primarily dedicated to the exploration, extraction, and processing of oil, gas, and minerals—including zinc. Although Vedanta leads in zinc production, the company's revenue streams are diverse. In the financial year 2024, Vedanta Limited's zinc revenue amounted to some 279 billion Indian rupees, which was the second-highest revenue stream after its aluminum segment.

Demand and supply of refined zinc worldwide 

The overall mine production of zinc in 2024 amounted to approximately 11.95 million metric tons. The metal production of refined zinc slightly exceeded 13.39 million metric tons, with global usage reaching 13.51 million metric tons. Zinc's end uses span a wide range of applications; however, galvanization accounted for nearly 60 percent of zinc consumption worldwide.
