The issue which has caused the greatest share of Europeans to reconsider their outlook on their own future over the past decade has been that of the global economic crisis. This is particularly so in the countries which were worst affected by the Eurozone crisis, namely Greece, Portugal, and Italy. There is substantial divergence between European countries in terms of which issues European deem the most important, with ** percent of German considering immigration to be the issue which has changed their outlook on the future - by far and away the issue which respondents cited the most in that country. The coronavirus pandemic and climate change are widely held concerns across all the included countries, while in Poland ** percent of respondents cited the war in Ukraine as their most pressing concern.Â
