Media usage in Latin America - statistics & facts
Latin American media users now spend more time with digital devices than they do with traditional TV. Mobile time spent is in fact twice as high as the time devoted to broadcast TV, emphasizing the growing reliance on online media among consumers in the region. On average, close to three quarters of the population in Latin America have access to the internet, and in Chile, Brazil, and Mexico internet access is even higher than that. The region as a whole follows the global trend of pivoting to digital media usage, however, local markets exhibit slight differences in media consumption behavior. These distinctions must be considered when targeting these consumers for marketing purposes or looking to introduce services in the region.
