The top candidate is Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an actor and politician with over 4.6 million, or 30.4 percent of the votes. Behind him is the current president Petro Poroshenko with over 2.4 million, or 16.01 percent of the votes.
Since none of the total 39 candidates obtained an absolute majority, Zelenskyy and Poroshenko are going to compete in the second round on April 21, 2019.
